Greetings Brothers,

North Star Lodge #2 has the distinct honor of adding State Senator Izaah Knox to its rolls. For those who may not know him, Senator Knox has grown to be a pillar of the Des Moines area and the State of Iowa through his dedicated service. North Star Lodge #2 has worked closely with his non-profit organization, Urban Dreams, on several community efforts over the years, partnering to host events such as Easter Egg Hunts and Candidate Forums. Additionally, members of North Star Lodge #2 have regularly supported and attended Urban Dreams-led fundraisers and outreach programs. Mr. Knox is currently running unopposed to represent District 5 on the Polk County Board of Supervisors.

Due to his outstanding service and steadfast representation of our community, I am incredibly pleased that North Star #2's local impact, growing reputation, and upstanding members have drawn State Senator Knox to our time-honored institution. Consequently, I have found it fitting to confer the Mysteries of Freemasonry upon Candidate Knox by making him a Mason on Sight.

This historic event will take place on June 27th at 9:00 AM at Gnemeth Lodge #577 located at 218 5th St., West Des Moines, IA 50265.  Please arrive at 8:30am so we can open promptly at 9:00am.  

Your presence is earnestly requested, as I will open an Occasional Lodge to confer the degrees of Freemasonry upon this dedicated and distinguished public servant. Please make plans to attend this rare and festive occasion.  Please RSVP by replying directly to this email. While all regular Masons are welcome to attend, I am specifically requesting that the Grand Lodge Officers and Most Worshipful Past Grand Masters Worshipful Masters and all Brethren of this great Jurisdiction be present to welcome State Senator Knox to our ranks.
