Grand Master

Grand Master Jermain Henderson was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. At the age of 21, he was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on October 21, 2000, in North Star Lodge #2. Over the years, he faithfully served his lodge in numerous roles, including Worshipful Master. His passion for ritualistic work led to his first Grand Lodge appointment as Grand Senior Deacon. For five years, he worked alongside the Grand Lecturers, teaching and conferring degrees across the Jurisdiction. His dedication and leadership later earned him the honor of serving as Grand Lecturer, Grand Senior Warden, Deputy Grand Master, and ultimately, Most Worshipful Grand Master.

 

Grand Master Henderson is also active in the Order of the Eastern Star. He is a Past Patron of Princess Oziel Chapter #9 and a current member of Princess Zorah Chapter #10. He has served as Grand Worthy Patron of Electa Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A., State of Iowa, and as Vice President of the Midwest Regional Conference of Grand Chapters and Eastern Stars.

 

He is a frater of William Frank Powell Consistory #46, A.A.S.R. of Freemasonry, P.H.A., Northern Jurisdiction, and a noble of Zeid Temple #90, A.E.A.O.N.M.S., where he is a Past Potentate.

 

Professionally, Grand Master Henderson has devoted much of his career to serving youth and families. He began as a Program Director at the John R. Grubb YMCA before working with families involved in the child and protective services system with PACE Juvenile Center. His career path changed and led him to help youth work through the Juvenile Court System as a School Liaison. He later continued his work with adjudicated youth at the Polk County Juvenile Detention Center, where he now works as a supervisor.

 

Above all, Grand Master Henderson is a devoted family man. He is married to Sister Victoria Henderson, and together they are the proud parents of Allen, Alesha, Langston, and Zora. The Henderson family resides in Des Moines, Iowa.  Grand Master Henderson and his family are members of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
