Proclamation

 

TO:  All subordinate lodges of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F.& A. M. of Iowa and Jurisdictions Inc., and members and all subordinate chapters holding allegiance to Electa Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A., State of Iowa and its Jurisdictions and all members thereof:

 

Greetings, Prince Hall having been born in the British West Indies on or about September 12th, 1748, and at the age of 17 he moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he became a minister and a leader of the African American people: and                                                                                                                                                     

 

Whereas, Prince Hall was the first Most Worshipful Grand Master of Freemasonry for People of African descent: and,

 

Whereas, Prince Hall Masons have been in existence since March 1775, with brothers throughout the world: and,

 

Whereas, these men are dedicated to the belief in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man, have supported many charitable activities, and the general welfare of others: and,

 

Whereas, Prince Hall Masons everywhere pledge to support, defend and protect the American way of life, to up hold the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and work toward the goal of one Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice

For All:

 

Therefore, by the authority vested in me as Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Iowa and it’s Jurisdictions, know ye that I, Andrew L. Richardson Jr., do hereby proclaim Sunday, September 8, 2024 as Prince Hall Americanism Commemorative Day in the State of Iowa. This will be a Statewide event for all Prince Hall Brothers and Sisters in the Iowa Jurisdiction. The event will be held at Bethel AME Church: 512 6th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. Masonic dress is required for brothers in attendance (black suit, white shirt, black tie, black shoes, white gloves, and apron appropriate to your office).  Sisters in attendance should be dressed in O.E.S. attire and regalia appropriate to their office.  Arrival time is 10:00am for preparation and line up, service starts at 11:00am. Each brother and sister please bring a small contribution of $10.00 for our donation to the church.

 

This proclamation is to be read at all Lodge and Chapter meetings before September 8th, 2024.
